DAPHNE GOOLSBEE, LMFT, RELATIONSHIP THERAPIST

I believe an investment in your relationships is an investment in your life.

Repair, reconnection, rediscovery—it’s all possible.

I work with adults, couples, and families who are ready to take the first step toward a new version of their relationships (and, ultimately, a new version of themselves). They recognize there’s some effort required to make this happen, but they’re willing to do the work if it means getting to experience a new, more fulfilling connection to the people they love.

My clients are looking for a therapist with experience and expertise who can understand what they’re facing and offer helpful assistance. Often they want someone who won’t make them (or expects them to) “start all the way at the beginning.” Instead, they want to be met where they are and seen for who they are.

If that’s you, then I’m so glad you’re here.

Relationships are complex, especially when other factors are at play as well. I support a variety of clients, including those:

  • Who are first-generation Americans

  • Experiencing the pain of a loved one’s addiction

  • In intercultural, interracial, or interfaith relationships

  • Wishing to break free from co-dependency

My Approach

When we work together, I’m not searching for “problems.”

Instead, I’m looking for ways to help you move through life with more ease and joy—less anxiety, stress, pain, heartache, overwhelm, or grief. I’m here to point out areas of growth or strength that you might not have noticed while also highlighting how you may be doing things that aren't getting you the results you're seeking. I’ll offer new ways to look at, think about, or respond to things and equip you for future success in your relationships.

I honor the difficulty and trepidation that can come with opening up to someone new and talking about painful experiences and emotions. I know that trust is earned, not given. I will never rush you in this process; you’ll have a confidential space to explore these at your own pace. Often, I find that saying things out loud can release the power your thoughts have over you. I want to help you experience that relief.

As a therapist specializing in relationships, I incorporate a variety of methods to help you reach your goals, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method, the Prepare & Enrich premarital assessment, the Enneagram, and other approaches. We’ll work together to decide which strategies will best support you in the communication, skill-building, and self-awareness you hope to achieve in therapy.

Let’s work together to create the kind of relationship you truly desire.
